Molly passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2022, at the age of 90, after a brief stay at Sea to Sky Hospice.
Born Mary Josephine Mee, Molly came into this world on Jan. 8, 1932, in Mexborough, England as the first-born daughter of Elizabeth and John.
Molly married her true love, Peter Goodgrove, in 1953. In 1966, Molly and Peter made the courageous decision to immigrate to Canada with their two young sons, where they joined her sister Kathleen, husband Walter and family who had already settled in Squamish.
Predeceased by her husband Peter in 1982, Molly is survived by her sons Paul (Donna) and Mark (Nadine), grandchildren Lisa (Kyle), Kyle (Erika), Jon, Jordyn (Phil), Hayley (Shea) and great-grandchildren Charlotte, Lucy, Carter, and Theodore. As well as her nieces and nephews Mike (Grace), Sean (Sue), David (Donna), Patrick (Terri), Donna (Don), Donald Sweeney and many great-nieces and nephews.
Molly will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and commentary. She was known for being the smallest person with the biggest personality. Molly had a love of travel, as well as being an enthusiastic supporter of all her family members’ activities and endeavours.
Molly spent many years volunteering in the community through St Joseph’s Thrift Shop and Hilltop House.
Molly was fortunate to have many friends who supported her through the years. The family would like to thank the staff at Shannon Falls, where Molly happily resided since 2014, Dr. Bohn and the staff at Squamish General Hospital, as well as the staff at Sea to Sky Hospice, for their kindness and compassion during Molly’s final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sea to Sky Hospice.
