1. On April 24, artists and wannabe artists can up their plant game at Sarah Keller's Plant School: Watercolour Painting and Plant Identification Class, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at 37776 2 Ave.
"A nature walk to learn about local plants, followed by an introduction to watercolour painting," reads the listing.
"All ages and abilities are welcome to join. This class starts with a guided plant walk, followed by instruction in watercolour painting. You’ll learn to identify a few local plant species, and leave with a watercolour painting of one. All materials are supplied, just dress appropriately for the weather. Can't make it? Join the next class on May 8."
2. On May 2, head to Chances Casino for Wayne Schmidt - Musician: Blow At High Dough (The Music Of The Tragically Hip), at 9000 Valley Dr., from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Relive the music of The Tragically Hip.
"Wayne has been playing guitar, writing songs, and singing since he was nine years old.
He also plays bass, drums, keys, mandolin, bouzouki, and banjo," reads his bio.
3. On May 3, there's the Makers Flea Trading Post: Pop Up at Trickster's Hideout, located at 38005 Cleveland Ave., from 7 to 10 p.m.
"Just in time for festival season, we’re bringing the Makers Flea Trading Post to Tricksters Hideout for a pop-up! Whether you’re looking for your next vintage treasure, thrifted gem, or the perfect festival outfit, this is your chance to shop, and connect with local makers, thrifters, and curators of unique pieces," reads the listing.
4. If you are making plans for May, perhaps put this May 10th event in your flight path. The Squamish Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Bird Festival is on from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Junction Park & O'Siyam Pavilion downtown.
"Join our Bird Friendly Squamish team for a vibrant community celebration of birds and learn how we can create safer shared spaces for them. Wear your brightest, most colourful outfit, and join us in welcoming the birds back this spring," reads the listing.
5. Another May 10 event to consider is Neighbourhood Craft, on at 38174 Cleveland Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Neighbourhood Craft brings together artists, makers and growers with handmade, vintage and locally sourced goods in the heart of downtown Squamish," reads the listing.
6. On May 22, take out the golf clubs for the 2025 Ron Anderson Memorial Golf Tournament at Squamish Valley Golf Club (of course) from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"This must-attend event features an action-packed afternoon of golf and prizes as we celebrate Ron Anderson's legacy of service to the Squamish Chamber of Commerce and the Squamish business community," reads the listing.
