The Squamish Nation is encouraging its members — and others — to learn more of the Skwxwú7mesh snichim (Squamish language), with this video of a conversation about the snow.

The video is one of many on language and culture developed by Ta na wa Ns7éyx̱nitm ta Snew̓iyálh (the Nation's Language and Cultural Affairs Department).
The videos are for Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) to increase opportunities for all Nation members to learn more about and to share in the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw culture, according to the Nation.

Each short video, which can be found on Facebook and Tik Tok, focuses on a different topic related to Skwxwú7mesh snichim vocabulary, ranging from greetings to colours, to times of day and days of the week, to seasons and different times of the year.
The department recently started using TikTok to reach a younger audience.
