The District of Squamish Council passed a motion Tuesday (Jan. 10) authorizing a last-minute request to shut down Cleveland Avenue from Winnipeg Street to Victoria Street for two nights next week.
The shutdown will allow for filming tentatively scheduled for Thursday (Jan. 19). H2O Motion Pictures will be shooting the feature film Big Nothing on Cleveland Ave. from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Council acknowledged that the production company fulfilled requirements for business licence, traffic control plans, notification to business, residents, the media and emergency services.
The production company also acquired $5 million in mandatory insurance identifying the District of Squamish as additionally insured.
