Neighbours of a residence on Glacier View Drive alerted local police to what was described as a strong odour of marijuana.RCMP investigated the residence on Saturday (Jan. 21) and discovered a marijuana grow operation.
A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with producing a controlled substance.
He will make his first court appearance to answer to the charge on March 22.
Bogus 911 call leads to arrest
On Jan. 18 local RCMP responded to a 911 call from Brackendale, reporting an assault in progress.
However when police arrived on the scene, it was discovered the call was a false alarm.
The next day, RCMP arrested and charged a 25-year-old local man with mischief.
The man, identified by Cpl. Dave Ritchie as Traith Jones, was also found to have two concealed weapons and a prohibited weapon. Jones will make his first appearance in court to answer for the charges Feb. 1.
