Pettingill enters election race

Squamish resident sits as president of the local chamber of commerce

The president of Squamish’s chamber of commerce is aiming to jump into the political arena.

On Wednesday, Oct. 8, Chris Pettingill announced he is running for District of Squamish council in the Nov. 15 municipal election. Pettingill has held the head role at the chamber since October, 2012.

Pettingill was also actively involved with Squamish’s Inside Edge. The organization set out to foster innovation and support talent to create opportunities and growth in the knowledge-based industries in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

Jason Blackman-Wulff and Debra McBride are also running for council.
