If you were on the south end of town on Labour Day, you likely spotted volunteer Squamish Search and Rescue crews training.
The Blackcomb Helicopters Bell was hovering over the Malamute most of the day.
"Our HETS team — short for Helicopter External Transport System — spends countless hours a year training for this type of technical operation," reads SSAR's Instagram post.
"Our mountainous terrain can make land [extractions] somewhat impossible at times, therefore making HETS missions an integral part of our operation."
