As election day approaches on Saturday, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) members are getting ready to cast their ballots in several districts across the Sea to Sky Corridor. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 19, providing multiple options for voters across the region.

Where to vote
Members will vote in different districts, depending on where they live:
West Vancouver-Sea to Sky: Squamish Valley residents
North Vancouver-Seymour: Ch’ích’elxwi7ḵw (Seymour) residents
North Vancouver-Lonsdale: Xwmélch’sten (Capilano) residents in North and West Vancouver

Totem Hall (Squamish)
Eslha7an Learning Centre
Chief Joe Mathias Centre
Voters are assigned to specific locations but can vote wherever it’s most convenient.
What you need to bring
Voters must show ID at the polling station. Acceptable forms include:
B.C. driver’s licence
B.C. ID card
Certificate of Indian Status
If you don’t have one of these, you can bring two pieces of ID, with one showing your address. If you can’t provide the necessary ID, someone can vouch for you at the polling station.
Off-reserve members can check the Elections BC website to find their district and local polling station.

A community liaison officer for the West Vancouver-Sea to Sky Electoral District is available to assist members with voting. Contact the Sea to Sky Electoral Office at 778-572-4610 for help.
For voters in North Vancouver-Lonsdale, information and assistance are available at 1395 Pemberton Ave. or by calling 778-572-4255.

Shuttles in the Squamish Valley will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. To arrange transportation, call 604-815-3445.
