Ethel Louise Ann Hurlbert passed away peacefully on Feb. 1st, 2022, at the Sea to Sky Hospice in Squamish, British Columbia.
Ethel leaves behind her beloved husband of 61 years, Jim; three children, Daryl (Gail), Terry (Melanie), and Cindy; six grandchildren, Kayla, Kathryn, Karlee, Bryce, Colton, and Toriann; and eight great-grandchildren.
Ethel was born and raised in Star City, Saskatchewan. There, she met and married Jim, and had their two sons. In 1965, Ethel and Jim moved their family to Revelstoke, B.C., where their daughter was later born. In 1971, they settled in Squamish, B.C., where they owned and operated The Klahanie Restaurant & Campground for nearly 30 years.
After retiring, they returned to their roots in Saskatchewan but continued to share their time between both Star City and Squamish.
Ethel's family would like to say a special thank you to the Sea to Sky Hospice for the exceptional care they provided during her final days.
A service for Ethel will be held in Star City, SK on July 16th, 2022.
