'Competition was stiff': Performance to be proud of for Squamish dancer at worlds

Yale Letchford, 12, of Squamish Dance Centre dancer, earned bronze with Team Canada at the International Dance Organization World Championships.

Yale Letchford, 12, a Squamish Dance Centre (SDC) dancer, won bronze with Team Canada at the International Dance Organization World Championships in Poland last week.

Letchford, the youngest on the team,  also came seventh overall in the duo, and 26th with her solo in the competition that ran Nov. 29th and 30th.

The World Championships hosted 30 countries from four continents and featured 3, 200 dancers. 

"Competition was stiff and it was an amazing experience, with new lifelong friends from around the world," said her mom, Julie Miller.

After the competition, Letchford was next off to enjoy 24 hours in Paris before returning to Squamish and the SDC to train for her upcoming competitive season.
